This programme gives participants an insight into current leadership thinking and helps them to see how they might better motivate themselves and their team.
Who is it for?
For people recently appointed to a team leading position and more established managers wishing to further develop their leadership skills.
Those on the course will:
- Understand the difference between leadership and management and the importance of both.
- Be a more effective communicator, able to give appropriate feedback, to acknowledge good performance and challenge poor performance.
- Understand how their team works and enable it to work more effectively
- Be more empathetic with their team.
- See leadership development as an on-going activity.
The course begins with 3 intensive days, at the end of which each participant will identify a focus they wish to develop in their day to day work. The final day (2 to 3 months later) is an opportunity for the participants to feedback the success of their project together with their learning points and to address any unresolved issues. Participants have the opportunity of obtaining 360º feedback from those with whom they work to help them to identify their leadership strengths and areas to develop further.
